The first month of the year is nearly gone. The pages of the calendar have turned, and with them, the fresh hopes and quiet hesitations that come with every new beginning. Maybe you started this year with bold resolutions, or maybe you tiptoed into it, unsure of what lay ahead. Either way, here you are—standing at the edge of January, looking toward the rest of the year.

Reflect:

  • What were your expectations for January? How did they align with reality?
  • Where did you experience moments of God’s presence and faithfulness this month?

Read:

  • Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
  • Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
  • Matthew 6:34: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Consider:

  1. How does Lamentations 3:22-23 speak to the way God sustains us daily?
  2. What does it mean that His compassions “never fail”?
  3. How can Isaiah 41:10 encourage you as you move into the coming months?
  4. How does Philippians 1:6 assure you that God is still working in your life, even when progress seems slow?
  5. What does Matthew 6:34 teach us about trusting God for the future?

Apply:

  • Take a moment to reflect on any regrets or worries from January. Offer them to God in prayer.
  • Think of one area where you want to trust God’s faithfulness more in the coming months. Write it down and pray over it.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to know what February holds. You only have to know this: He is already there, waiting for you with love that never runs out. Take a deep breath. Just as God’s grace sustained you through January, it will sustain you in the months ahead!

Pray:
Lord, as I close this month, I release my regrets and worries into Your hands. Thank You for the grace that has carried me through and for the promise that Your mercies are new every morning. Help me to trust You more in the days ahead. Amen.
