Under the powerful theme, Kingdom Minded Women, the annual Home League rally was held on September 27, 2025, in the Western Cape Division, and 198 women attended. The event saw a massive turnout, with women and young girls alike attending in elegant attire, all beautifully matching the signature colour scheme of black, gold, and purple. The Divisional Commander, Major C. Holmes, and Divisional Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Captain P. Mashaba, led the rally.
Kingdom Minded Women are women who have made a conscious choice to prioritize God’s Kingdom, His rule and reign over the values, priorities, and pressures of the earthly world. It is about women whose focus, identity, and actions are aligned with God’s purposes, both in their personal lives and in their communities.
The Special Guest Speaker, Commissioner D. Eliasen (TPWM), was such a blessing. Her message carried significant weight and perspective, offering inspiration and teachings that resonate on a broader, more strategic level. Her topic was about the daily practical application of a Kingdom Minded Woman. How can a Kingdom Minded Woman fellowship, serve, educate, and worship in her daily life?
Lieut Dathini used her dynamic and contagious enthusiasm to inspire everyone present to engage deeply in the worship session, making it a spiritually intense and unifying experience for all who attended. In her inspiring session, Captain Nkosi demonstrated how easily burdens and cares entangle our everyday lives. Participants were connected by a ball of wool thrown from person to person until the group was tangled. Then the wool was cut, freeing the participants and illustrating how God intervenes in our tangled lives, helping us to live in freedom as we keep trusting Him.
Cherlene Thomasso from Manenberg Corps illustrated the values of a Kingdom Minded Woman by means of an acrostic, i.e., Kind, Intelligent, Noble, Gracious, Delicate, Obedient, Merciful. Ms. Jacky Hendricks of Bonteheuwel Corps gave a vulnerable and encouraging testimony, sharing how adopting a Kingdom Minded life helped her overcome challenges. The young women and Junior Miss girls, led by Lieut. Sibiya, performed a beautiful spiritual dance that was well received by the women present.
The acknowledgment of Retired Officers and Silver Star mothers was a vital moment that honoured their enduring legacy. Major Yvonne Wood led the Helping Hand report back, highlighting the practical, missional reality of being Kingdom Minded.
Perhaps the most impactful moment for many was the symbolic act of writing burdens, cares, and prayers onto small rocks and then laying them at the foot of the cross. The ladies were encouraged to leave all that hinders them, lay down what weighs them down, and press on to become Kingdom Minded Women.
