Protective Behaviours (PB) training commenced in the Eastern KwaZulu-Natal Division on the 19th and 20th of April 2024. Facilitated by Major Priscilla Ziqubu and Captain Sphephelo Sibisi, and supported by new Divisional Leaders, Captains Edouard and Lynn Zola, the training had an attendance of 25 people from across the Division. During the training the Territorial Leaders, Commissioners Torben & Deise Eliasen, stopped by to greet attendees and express their support for this ministry within the Division. Protective Behaviours training is being conducted in every Division in the Territory this year.

Protective Behaviours is a globally recognized Prevention Education Programme designed to impart safety skills to children in an engaging and enjoyable manner, without instilling fear. By delivering clear messages, the programme enables children to recognize precarious situations and take charge of their safety proactively. Through tailored prevention tactics, Protective Behaviours fosters children’s ability to discern safety from danger, equipping them with problem-solving tools for moments of unease and guiding them in seeking assistance when necessary.
As our Corps and Centres engage with this programme and take it across the Territory, we believe the result will be that children in communities throughout the country will be safer and empowered as they pursue their right to feel safe at all times.
