Learning Pathways is a special training offered by The Salvation Army for people all over the world. It teaches about getting involved in your community, helping it grow, and managing community projects.
This course is like a guide for connecting with your community using a special approach called Integrated Mission and Faith-Based Facilitation (FBF). It connects lessons from the Bible, personal thoughts, theology, and practical ideas to everyday life and ministry. It helps you make positive changes in your own life and in the community.
You can join a learning group in your church, youth group, or women’s group. Together with other students, you’ll explore ways to connect with your community, whether through work, school, clubs, or with your neighbors. Thinking about your beliefs and what matters to you will help you understand your skills, talents, and passions better.
Each person on the Learning Pathways must choose an accountability partner. This person will help you achieve your goals and develop yourself. They will accompany you on your learning journey and sign off on your workbook at the end of each session. You get to choose your accountability partner yourself.
To finish the course, you’ll need to complete all 12 sessions on both Community Engagement and Personal Development within 3 – 6 months of commencing the studies. You can do this by signing up for online learning or using a workbook provided, where you’ll record your thoughts and apply what you’ve learned.
If you are interested in signing up for Learning Pathways speak to your Corps Officer. All applications need to go through your Corps Officer and DHQ for processing.
