I greet you in the wonderful Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am Cadet Mzwakhe Ngobeni from Meadowlands Corps in the Central Division. I would like to share my testimony from my out-training appointment at Pienaar Corps in Mpumalanga and eSwatini Division.
Going to live in a new province and experiencing a new culture was amazing. I need a book or two to record my experiences because the six months I spent at Kwa Daantjie community felt like a decade. My greatest highlight is what happened two weeks into our appointment. It was in the morning, after dropping my son off at school, when I met a very drunk man who came to me and said, ‘Pastor, these people need your help.’ I was a bit nervous because I knew just a few people and they were only from the Corps. The two guys brought to me needed to start a rehab programme for themselves and their friends. We made arrangements on when to meet and how we would conduct our prayers and devotions to help them out of their drug-enslaved life. It was just three of them when we started, and in less than three months, we had 40 drug addicts willing to live a drug-free life. I saw God’s hand there; it was scary, it seemed impossible, but a miracle took place. It was Jehovah Rapha healing His children and bringing restoration to their health when hope was gone!
This changed a lot of things in the area, as the crime statistics decreased drastically, parents were united with their long-lost sons, hope was restored in the community and God became the centre of attraction. When I sing the chorus that says ‘every day and every hour, you are faithful, O Lord,’ I know what I am talking about because, in that period, I saw God’s faithfulness. Psalm 89:1, ‘I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth, I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations.‘
Wow this is absolutely powerful to read and very inspiring, thank you Cadet Mzwakhe for this very powerful testimony. Hallelujah 🙌
